Botswana-born artist Meleko Mokgosi is Professor and Director of Graduate Studies in Painting and Printmaking at the Yale School of Art , and his large-scale, multi-panel works challenge notions of identity through layered storytelling. A NYT feature article on Mokgosi was entitled “Meleko Mokgosi Wants You to See the Politics of Everyday Life” and his Bread, Butter, and Power, an epic 21-panel painting, was presented by Gagosian in collaboration with Jack Shainman Gallery at Art Basel Unlimited 2021.”
Mokgosi’s work has been exhibited internationally and is included in public collections from the Studio Museum in Harlem to the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles and Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris. He will be in conversation with Margery Arent Safir. A coupe de champagne will follow.
