A founding principle of the Arts Arena is making available to the broadest possible audience an encounter with the arts and rare direct access to preeminent figures across artistic disciplines reflects a deep belief in the power of the arts to affect positively issues of society. Now in its second decade, the Arts Arena is even more committed to this belief and to its goal of offering access for all, regardless of income, to the highest level of cultural actors and activities. Proceeds from this inaugural gala will help it achieve this goal.
The gala will honor five exceptional visionaries and leaders in the arts who will join us for the celebration: Mikhail Baryshnikov, James Ivory, Dena Kaye, Robert Storr, Robert Wilson. The Honorable Jane D. Hartley, US Ambassador to France from 2014-17, is Honorary Gala Chair. Among the presenters are Lucinda Childs and Agnes Gund. Entertainment will include Russian pianist Nikolay Khozyainov and a star operatic vocalist as “surprise guest.”
