The symphonic conductor of the Mostly Mozart Festival at Lincoln Center for two decades and of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra since 2013, Louis Langrée has directed the philharmonic orchestras of Berlin, Vienna, London, New York, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Paris, and the Orchestre National de France, and also performs with ensembles on period instruments. He has directed and taken part in the creation of many opera productions at the Staatsoper in Vienna, La Scala in Milan, Covent Garden in London, the Metropolitan Opera in New York, and the Opéra National de Paris, as well as the Glyndebourne, Hollywood Bowl, and Aix-en-Provence opera festivals. His critically-acclaimed recordings have received the Diapason d’Ór, Grand Prize of the Charles Cros Academy, Caecilia Prize, Diamont award from Opéra magazine, Best Recording of the year at the International Opera Awards; also, Best Video Performance at the International Classic Music Awards. Appointed by President Macron Director General of L’Opéra Comique National Theatre, he began his five-year term on November 1, 2021. Louis Langrée is a Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur and Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres. He will be joined by two vocalists from the Academie of the Opéra Comique.
