Location: Hôtel de Talleyrand, 2 rue Saint Florentin, Paris, 1er

The Curtis Institute of Music educates and trains exceptionally gifted young musicians for careers as performing artists on the highest professional level. One of the world’s leading conservatories, it has produced such legends as Leonard Bernstein and Samuel Barber and current stars Jonathan Biss, Juan Diego Flórez, Alan Gilbert, Hilary Hahn, Jennifer Higdon, and Lang Lang. Curtis alumni hold principal chairs in every major American orchestra, and are featured as guest soloists with the world’s leading orchestras, opera houses, and chamber music series.

Allen Boxer, the fourth recipient of the Arts Arena Curtis Institute of Music Award for excellence in performance, has sung to acclaim such roles as Masetto (Don Giovanni), Angelotti (Tosca), Baron Douphol (La traviata), Vicomte Cascada (Die Lustige Witwe), or the Physician (Pelléas et Mélisande) in opera houses in both the United States and Europe.  “Allen Boxer brille quant à lui particulièrement en Spencer Coyle, profondément humain, compréhensif, à la voix ronde, chaleureuse et suave.” Marie Charlotte Mallard, TouteLaCulture

Mr. Boxer’s award concert program will include music by Schubert, Schumann, Wagner, and Ibert.

A reception will follow.
