The Paris Opera Ballet performs Shakespeare’s poetic world of A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Le Songe d’une nuit d’été) as envisioned by choreographer George Balanchine and danced to music by Mendelssohn, with sets and costumes by fashion legend Christian Lacroix.  Created in 1962 for the New York City Ballet, the work is one of Balanchine’s rare forays into the art of narrative ballet.

Immediately prior to the premiere of the ballet at the Opéra Bastille, ArtsArenaPLUS members are invited to a conversation with Ellen Sorrin, Director of the George Balanchine Trust, and the ballet’s creative team of Mr. Lacroix, Lighting Designer Jennifer Tipton. and Répétiteur Sandra Jennings.

9 March, 2017 – 17:30-18:30.  Venue to be announced upon receiving your reservation.
